Do you like meeting new people and helping them get the information they need to make great decisions! Assist customers in understanding Medicare programs through group presentations and individual counseling and/or provide administrative support to the ADRC’s elder and disability benefit specialists. Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities and insurance policies, public benefits, and/or private benefits is preferred. Training may be provided/required.

Caregiver Support Volunteer

A variety of functions are available ranging from developing content for newsletters and other promotional materials to assisting with our Caring Better & Braver podcast, preparing care packages, and assisting with events. Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities and interest working with caregivers is preferred.

Dementia Program Volunteer

Are you interested in helping to enhance the quality of life for people impacted by dementia? Meal Delivery Driver

Deliver lunch and a smile to older adults who must stay in their home due to health or other reasons. Most drivers like to drive one or two days a week, but you can choose to drive as little or as much as you would like. A schedule will be set up and available in advance based on your availability. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance. A mileage stipend is available. If you enjoy meeting new people, and want to make a difference in someone’s life, this is for you!

Meal Site Volunteer

Assist with packaging home-delivered meals, serve congregate meals to older adults, and clean-up dining site after congregate meal at one of our Senior Nutrition Program dining sites in the community. Congregate meals are served Monday-Friday at 11:30 AM or 12:00 PM. Like other volunteer opportunities, volunteer as little or as much as you would like. A schedule will be set up and available in advance based on your availability. If you enjoy being with and helping others, you will enjoy this role!

Prevention Program Volunteer

Help plan, promote, and/or facilitate educational health and wellness classes. Perfect for persons who are comfortable speaking to small groups. Training is provided. Classes are scheduled in advance based on your availability, and typically with another co-facilitator. Volunteers are committed to helping others make changes in their health behaviors to stay strong and live healthy. If this is you, let us know!

Volunteer Guardian

Due to limited family and social networks, the need for volunteer guardians is at an all-time high. As a volunteer guardian, you will help an older adult or adult with a disability understand important issues regarding their health care and/or finances. Volunteer guardians must be age 18 years of age or older and have compassion for helping others. You will be supplied with all the information, education, and support needed. If you would like to affect someone’s life in a meaningful way, this role is for you!
