Does your business generate hazardous waste?

Many area businesses create small amounts of hazardous materials and are looking for an effective and cost efficient means of disposing of such items. In fact, hazardous wastes generated by businesses are regulated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource and must be properly disposed of. Per our state mandated regulations, we are able to offer such a service to your business.

The Household Hazardous Materials facility can accept hazardous waste from businesses determined to be Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQG). A VSQG is a business that generates no more than 220 pounds of hazardous waste per month and stores no more than 2,200 pounds on site at any one time. A business also must not generate more that 2.2 pounds of acutely hazardous material per month.

Almost all area businesses would qualify as a VSQG.

During the first two years of program operation over 200 area businesses utilized our hazardous waste disposal services. Businesses were able to properly dispose of everything from paint and cleaners, to fluorescent light bulbs and ballasts.

We keep our costs low and are able to pass on low fees to business users. Contact the program staff with questions or to utilize the VSQG service.
