Businesses


A $5.00 minimum fee is charged on all transactions

Tarping Loads
All loose waste loads must be properly tarped as per City Ordinance 15.12. We like to keep our local area roadways and landfill site clean.

The Solid Waste Department will begin charging a $5.00 fee for any untarped or unsecured loads in addition to landfill tipping fees in January 2017. For tarping loads flyer click here.



Using the Top Unloading Site
Businesses, including landlords, must pay the $15.00 service fee + $62.00/ton and the waste must be taken to the top site unloading area regardless of the vehicle. See the Citizen’s page for acceptable items. There are convenient red and white signs to direct you to this area.

Active Site
Businesses may also use our active site for the rate of $62/ton with the purchase of a permit for demolition or municipal waste. To use this site you must have one of the two permit options. Click here for permits. Click here for a detailed price list.


Resource Recovery (waste-to-energy) at Xcel
Businesses may also use the Xcel Energy French Island Generating plant for the rate of $62/ton with the purchase of a permit.


Asbestos
Business must fill out an Asbestos Waste Manifest before bringing in Friable or Non-friable Asbestos. Rate is $150.00/ton.  A permit is required to use this site.


Special Wastes
Special wastes, such as petroleum impacted soils must have pre-approval before being brought into the landfill site. Click

Permits
A permit is required to use the landfill site and the Xcel waste to energy site for municipal or demolition waste. Each vehicle that uses the site must have a separate permit. To obtain a permit, a driver’s license or other identification may be required in order to set up an account.

 

Annual
Each vehicle permitted is $300.00. If a permit is purchased later than the first of the year the amount decreases by $25.00 each month. This permit allows the user to make as many trips to the landfill cell as desired, while paying the landfill tipping fee.  A window decal sticker is provided and must be displayed on the vehicle.

3-Day
If a business does not wish to purchase an annual permit, they have the option to purchase a temporary 3-day permit, valid for three consecutive business days. The cost of this permit is $25.00.

Credit Applications
To have your costs billed to you at the end of the month, a credit application and an account in good standing are required. Applications take at least seven business days to be approved by the financial specialist. You will be notified regarding your account status.

Materials Processing Pad
All items being dropped off on our materials processing pad require check-in at the scale house first. Do not attempt to enter the site without check in. Use of the materials processing pad does NOT require a permit.

Acceptable wastes

 

  • Yard Waste: $45/ton
    (Grass, leaves, household plants-paper bags ONLY)
  • Brush and clean wood: $27/ton
    (Brush, limbs, stumps less than 18” in diameter, pallets, untreated, unpainted, unstained wood)
  • Stumps over 18” in Diameter: $50/ton
  • Shingles: $35/ton
    (Asphalt shingles only, must be free of other wastes. Tarpaper and nails ok)
  • Clean Fill: $10/ton
    (Gravel, sand, dirt, and rock ONLY)
  • Clean Concrete: Free, $5.00 minimum transaction fee applies
    (Must be chunk concrete from sidewalks, flooring, etc.)
  • Clean Blacktop: Free, $5.00 minimum transaction fee applies
    (Must be chunk blacktop)
