INMATE ACCOUNT
FUNDS
Deposits to inmate accounts can be
made by:
24 Hour/7 Days a Week Account
Funding Funds Available
within 24 hours
Accepted: Debit Cards, VISA, MasterCard, MoneyPack, CASH
(at the kiosk) and more.
Deposits will be split 50/50 to order
canteen and cover previous debt.
Friends
& family can also deposit funds into inmate accounts via the
internet or phone using a debit or credit card – an additional
transaction fee is charged for this service.

Cash deposits will
no longer be accepted at Master Control or Jail Administration.
Friends/family must use the lobby kiosk or send, via US Mail, a
money order or cashier’s check to an inmate. NO
PERSONAL CHECKS!

Phone cards will
no longer be sold at Jail Administration. Inmates can now purchase
phone cards through their commissary.

BOND POSTING |
|
During regular business hours (Monday
through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) bonds can be posted at the
Clerk of Courts office located in room 1200 of the Law Enforcement
Center. The Clerk of Courts office will accept cash, money
order or a cashiers check. No personal checks are accepted.
During regular business hours, the City of La Crosse municipal bonds
may be posted at the La Crosse City Hall, 400 La Crosse Street.
After business hours and on holidays, bonds can be posted 24 hours a
day at Master Control in the jail, located at the south entrance of
the Law Enforcement Center, 333 Vine Street. the jail will
accept a money order, cashiers check, major credit card or a check
made out to the La Crosse County Clerk or the La Crosse County
Sheriff's Department.
You may also post bond with a credit
card via telephone at 888-604-7888 or via the internet at www.GovPayNOW. com. Please note there is an additional fee
charged if bond is posted by credit card. The jail does not
accept cash or personal checks.
If a defendant fails to comply
with any conditions of bond, the bond money could be forfeited.
If the defendant is found guilty, the bond will be applied to any
restitution, fine or costs. |

CANTEEN |
|
Canteen will be offered three (3)
times per week. An inmate may spend up to $30.00 per canteen
order. |
|
Cash deposits
for an inmate's canteen account may be brought to the Jail
Reception during business hours or dropped off after
business hours at Master Control in
the Law Enforcement Center. |
|
HAIRCUTS
Haircuts are available on Saturdays at
a cost of $10.00. Beard trims are also available for $5.00.
MAIL
All general incoming mail should be
addressed as follows:

All general incoming mail must
have a return address including the name of the sender and
complete address. Letters without a complete return
address will be sent back to the post office.
Postage stamps
and envelopes can be purchased through canteen for all outgoing
mail. The La Crosse County Jail does not accept stamps and
envelopes sent in or dropped off.
All money in the inmate's possession will be placed in an in-house
account. All personal checks and two-party checks will be
returned to sender.

VISITATION
General Public
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday: 6:00 p.m. -
9:00 p.m.
Thursday: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00
p.m.
Pastoral Visitation
Tuesday 8:00a.m.-11:00a.m.
Friday 7:00p.m.-10:00p.m. Each inmate may
have one (1) 20 minute visit per visitation day. Persons
under the age of 18 shall not be permitted to visit an inmate
unless accompanied by a parent (proper documentation and
identification may be required). Only one (1) child may
accompany a parent. A spouse under the age of 18 may visit
if he/she can present photo identification and proof of
marriage. All visitors must be able to provide positive
photo identification.
Each inmate must have an approved visitor
list. Both adults and minors must be on the list in order to
visit. All visits are by reservation only. Visitors must
call the jail at (608) 785-9630 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00
p.m. on the day prior to visitation. One reservation per phone
call. Visitors must call to cancel a visit. Visitors are now
able to schedule a visit, on the day prior to visitation, via the internet by
clicking on the link below. If a visitor is a
"no show" they will lose their visitation privileges for 30 days.
Former inmates cannot visit for 60 days after their release.

Metered parking is available in
Parking Lot C, just south of the Law Enforcement Center. |

PERSONAL ITEMS |
|
Books, hygiene items, writing
materials, uniforms and shoes are provided to the inmate.
Only plain white underclothing will be
allowed, which can be purchased through canteen. The jail will
not accept any clothing from the outside.
Personal items such as prescription
medication, eye glasses or other medical equipment may be dropped
off at Jail Reception or Master Control.
Inmates must
submit a written request at least 24 hours in advance to release
clothing or other personal property to visitors. |

TELEPHONE SYSTEM |
|
The telephone system is operated by
Securus Technology. Personal phone calls can be made as either
collect calls or by using our prepaid calling card. If there
is a problem with the phone system, please call 1-800-844-6591 for
assistance. Prepaid calling
cards can be purchased by inmates from funds in their canteen
account. Cards are $10.55 for 15 minutes. If an inmate does not
have the funds available, cards can be purchased for the inmate by family and
friends at the Jail Reception Office during normal business hours.
Phones may be available for inmates
after the morning inspection until 10:00 p.m.
Phone numbers may
be blocked.
Phone calls are recorded. |
