Foster Care

Kinship, is a program where adult relatives who are caring for minor children of specified relatives (stepparent, brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, first cousin, nephew, niece, aunt, uncle, or any person of a preceding generation as denoted by the prefix of grand, great, or great-great, whether by blood or marriage or legal adoption, or the spouse of any person named in this subsection, even if the marriage is terminated by death or divorce) may apply for Kinship benefits. 

Approved Kinship relatives are eligible for a monthly Kinship grant (pending availability of funding) to assist in the care of the children.
