Description:

Crisis support services are available for children experiencing mental, emotional, developmental and behavioral challenges. Crises are manifested in a variety of ways and can include a wide range of behaviors. As such, persons with developmental disabilities and substance abuse are eligible to receive support and services.

Support and services available:

Initial assessment and response planning.
Telephone support.
Stabilization in order to avoid unnecessary hospitalization.
Linkage and follow up to ensure a smooth transition to needed supports and services in the community.
Emergency response planning to develop a plan for crisis situations that may arrive in the future.

Eligibility:

Children residing in La Crosse County.
Ages birth to 17 years.

Program Fees:

Crisis services are reimbursed by Medical Assistance and by some third party insurance companies. If medical insurance is not available there are options for a sliding fee scale through La Crosse County Human Services Fiscal Department.
