La Crosse Area Health Initiative:

Tobacco-Free Coalition

Who We Represent:

Health professionals, educators, business people, media professionals, concerned citizens and public officials all interested in reducing lives lost to tobacco use.

Our Mission:

The mission of the La Crosse Area Health Initiative is to enhance the wellbeing of our population by working collaboratively with the community to conduct and evaluate educational, informational, and service efforts specifically related to tobacco prevention, cessation, and environmental tobacco smoke.

 

What LAHI is Doing for the La Crosse County Area:

Promoting clean indoor air policies to protect the community from secondhand tobacco smoke.

Promoting a reduction in youth smoking through the prevention of illegal sale of cigarettes to youth.

Providing support and recognition to businesses working to implement smoke-free environments for their employees.

Promoting the availability of low-cost tobacco cessation programs for youth and the community.

Working to reach parents to be & parents of young children about the benefits of smoke-free homes & vehicles

The Coalition meets the third Friday of each month. We welcome your ideas and participation. Subcommittees on the issues of youth, community policy, and priority populations and meet monthly as well. Contact the La Crosse Area Health Initiative by calling 608/785-9872.
