La Crosse County Jail Ministry

Jail Ministry helps inmates use their time to improve themselves, thus providing a measurable service to them and to the community.

The Storybook Project

Women inmates are given the opportunity to record stories on audio tapes.  These recordings are played for their children so they can hear and feel the presence of their mothers.  One mother recorded a story for the child she gave up in hopes that the adoptive parents would someday allow the child to hear her biological mother's voice.  This initiative was started by Jean Marck.
