The Justice Sanctions Program was established to evaluate the jail
population and to develop programming for inmates in the jail.
Quarterly reports are completed to show the number of inmates involved in
the program, the number of bed days saved for the jail and the cost to the
county.
Alternatives to jail may include electronic monitoring and community
service.
Each inmate is evaluated for his or her risk to the community and the risk
for re-offending.
Once an inmate is evaluated, a report is written to the court requesting
an alternative to jail or rejecting the inmate as too great of a risk.
There is a specialized program for multiple drunk driving offenders.
Life skills programming is being offered to those who are incarcerated.
Health Education skills are being taught in the jail.
