Department Overview

The purpose of the Personnel Department is to administer the following functions:

Employee Recruitment, Interviewing and Selection Cafeteria/Section 125 Oversight
Temporary Labor Coordination Deferred Compensation Plan Oversight
Employee Benefits and Insurance Administration Orientation of New Employees
Employee Skills and Management Development Training Labor relations (8 Bargaining Units and 3 Meet and Confer)
Labor Contract Negotiations Wage/Salary Administration
Job Analysis and Evaluation Unemployment Compensation
Job Descriptions (over 400) Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action
Personnel Record Keeping/Reports Liability Insurance Claims Coordination
Human Resource Information Systems County-Wide Budget Planning for Personnel
Tuition Aid/Scholarships Advisory to the County Administrator, County Board, Department Heads, and employees regarding personnel matters
Employee Safety Programs Promotion/Transfer/Separation Processing
Employee Recognition Programs Workers Compensation Administration & Oversight
